Areas of Importance when taking driving lessons in Cheam

Get the first lesson right will make you feel on top of the world Your instructor will drive you to a quite area. On the drive, he will explain some controls he is using. A briefing on any new subject is as important as doing it. M.S.M. (Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre) and P.O.M. (Prepare, Observe & Move) are need for success. Your instructor knows many places to get this done. Perfect site would be Sandy Lane.

Lesson Plan: Clutch Control

Clutch Control is ultra important to pass a test. You will be taken to hills such as at Sandy Lane or Frederick Road areas of Cheam. For Clutch control you will have to combine your foot controls. Biting point is the buzz word for this lesson plan.

Lesson Plan: Junctions – Emerging and Entering

Major roads to Minor roads using the MSPSL routines are essential to success. You will be taken to an area full of junctions. Areas such as York road and Sandy Lane have the perfect roads to practise turns.

Lesson Plan: Meeting Traffic

Meeting is a difficult skill and takes many attempts. You need narrow roads to do this. You will be taken where there are lots and lots of parked cars. The best area for meeting traffic is on the Cheam Park Farm Estate.
                         

Lesson Plan: Emergency Stops

You will drive to a quiet area, where you will be briefed how to perform this exercise. I am sure your instructor will take you somewhere like the Sandy Lane area or Cornwall road. Skills required are quick reactions whilst maintaining control of your vehicle.

Lesson Plan: Progress / Hesitation and Driving Position

Progress can mean either driving too fast for the road conditions ahead or driving too slow. Hesitation is when you arrive at junctions not prepared to go or wait too long at the junctions. Slow sounds safe but can be dangerous too. Driving Position on the road is ultra important as bad position misleads other road users. Everywhere in Cheam is fine for these exercises.
